The jackpot starts from 10 Million euros. As a result if no one wins the jackpot, it will will roll over to the next draw. This happens until jackpot reaches 90 million euros.

This means that some other lotteries, like the EuroMillions and Powerball will have bigger jackpots, due to the fact that there are no caps to the jackpot size. On the other hand, some lotteries have fixed jackpots. For example, the WorldMillions Lotto which has a jackpot of 100 million each week. On the other side it means that Eurojackpot offers better chances to win millions!

The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 out of 95.34 million. This compares pretty well to other lottery jackpots, where hitting the jackpot is even harder.

“Fun fact”

Your odds of winning the jackpot are small – let’s be honest. However, there must be things that are even more unlikely, right? Every year 90 people get struck by lightning – which makes winning the jackpot 50 times more likely than this odd and horrible thing.

It is also quite unique how the draw works. Usually in lotteries the numbers are drawn from the same pool of numbers. But in Eurojackpot the main numbers are 5 out 50 and star numbers 2 from 10. So you can quite easily hit the star numbers. But it is very difficult for anybody to match more than a few of the main numbers. Probability for you to have one main number correct is 2% while you have 10%  chance of hitting one star number.
